Silicon Infusion has been building embedded systems since its inception and has developed processes and methodologies that encourage maximal design re-use and early verification of systems.

Our skilled technologists together with our extensive EDA tool set and experience allow us to deliver powerful and cost-effective solutions to meet our customers’ requirements. These solutions vary from simple microprocessor based board designs through to FPGA based re-configurable solutions and complete system on chip ASICs. Full project management is supplied with every design we undertake and each project is structured with clearly visible milestones and a staged development plan.

Our engineers have extensive experience in specifying and designing complete systems for a wide variety of embedded applications, while balancing the conflicting requirements for speed, power and manufacturing cost. We approach embedded systems from a co-design perspective and structure our hardware to be software friendly. We provide a variety of software design services to complement our hardware capabilities, from simple driver implementations through to complete application development.

For low volume products, we support FPGA designs using the latest Altera®, Actel® and Xilinx® tool flows. Medium quantity designs can be targeted to structured ASICs, which deliver reduced part costs relative to FPGA without incurring the high tooling charges associated with standard cell ASIC designs.

For larger systems, we target standard cell ASICs and gate arrays from a number of leading edge vendors. We can even provide low volume solutions on standard cell through multi-project wafer runs. To support such designs we use industry standard tools from Mentor Graphics® and Synopsys® for RTL capture and simulation, gate-level synthesis, FPGA prototyping, static timing analysis and design for test.
